Tucked away at the end of the road and perched high on a Lennox Head hillside, a considerable extension to the outdoor living space included a green roof, pool and comprehensive garden makeover to create a private retreat, perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The unusual architectural form squeezes the new space into a somewhat constrained site and creates the space for the central courtyard and pool deck which has changed the lifestyle of the client's growing family.

The green roof merges with the vegetation of the valley, creating an extension of the distant green landscape to the upper living space. Vegetation spills across the edge of the rooftop to soften the architectural form and adds interest when at the pool deck level below. Light grey limestone paving adds a sharpness against the dark architectural hues, providing a contemporary aesthetic in keeping with the character of the original property.
